Rate Equation Order Detective
Solve generated case files using concentration effects, graph descriptions, the units of k, combined changes and—only in OCR A mode—half-life evidence.
Evidence case file
Infer the hidden rate law
The generator guarantees that the supplied evidence is sufficient. Harder cases make you combine clues rather than reading each order directly.
How the reaction-order clues work
A case may describe how the initial rate responds to a concentration change, the shape of an initial-rate graph, or the units of the rate constant. Hard cases can give a combined concentration change: once one order is known, its contribution can be divided out to reveal another.
OCR A half-life evidence
In OCR A mode, the game can use half-life relationships: a constant half-life indicates first-order behaviour; for zero order the half-life increases with initial concentration; for second order it decreases as initial concentration increases. The half-life option is disabled in AQA mode so students are not trained on material outside that specification.
Use both rates games
This detective game develops interpretation. The initial-rates generator develops full numerical working, calculation of k and units, and multi-experiment comparisons.
